it's a New Year

Hello Friends-

We're celebrating the start of the New Year and hope everyone in the Leave No Trace community had a wonderful holiday season. Despite these unsettled economic times, we have an exciting year in front of us that includes celebrating 10 years of one of our most successful programs - the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers. Ten years ago we started a partnership with Subaru of American to put a team of educators on the road. Since that time, we have had the pleasure of reaching out to hundreds of thousands of outdoor enthusiasts across the nation providing all forms of Leave No Trace education and outreach. These unique educators provide many different types of training from our two-day trainer course for land managers to half-day trainings for boy scouts, girl scouts and kids at camp. They've learned to tailor their education to meet the needs of diverse groups in every state. But I don't have to tell many of you about the Traveling Trainers because you've experienced first hand the education, trainings and many times profound experiences they provide.

This year, as we highlight this award-winning program, we'll be asking you, our partners, volunteers and thousands of others to participate in the celebration in a unique and meaningful way. We're not ready to let the cat completely out of the bag as our plan is still taking shape. But please, stay tuned for more exciting announcements! Happy New Year again!
