I am currently at my alma mater, Hamilton College, leading 6 incoming freshmen on an adventure in the High Peaks area. The weather is BEAUTIFUL and we are having a great time conquring some of the highest mountains in the Adirondacks. This year my trip is looking to climb Upper Wolfjaw, Lower Wolfjaw, Gothics, Big Slide and Yard.
Adirondack Adventure is Hamilton College's nationally acclaimed eight-day outdoor program for incoming students that begins before regular orientation. Approximately 240 incoming first-year students arrive at Hamilton early to participate in one of 27 trips into the Adirondacks, each guided by a team of two.
I'll be back in the office next week to share some more pictures with you.

It was thirty years ago, 1979, that my wife and I were leading a group of six senior highs for a week's backpacking trip in the High Peaks. Our trip also included Upper and Lower Wolf Jaw as well as Mount Marcy. We had only five minutes of rain the whole week we were there and the black flies and no-see-ums were minimal. I an looking forward to making a return trip.
