This Yellow Bellied Marmot says "Respect Wildlife"

From the Leave No Trace Standard Reference Card:
  • Observe Wildlife from a distance. Do not follor or approach them.
  • Never feed animals. Feeding wildlife damages their health, alters natural behaviors, and exposes them to predators and other dangers.
  • Protect wildlife and your food by storing rations and trash securely.
  • Control pets at all times, or leave them at home.
  • Avoid wildlife during sensitive times: mating, nesting, raising young, or Winter.
I am willing to bet that the Yellow Bellied Marmot pictured above has been eating more than his traditional diet of grasses, leaves, flowers and small insects. He came to join us as we ate a snack atop Longs Peak at 14,259 feet.
