Road Wisdom

Another fall season is upon us. Team East has been traveling through New England over the last month. We can feel the changing of the seasons in the air. Fall presents us with a unique time of year to get outside and strengthen our connection with nature. We’ve compiled a list of what we enjoy most about the fall season:
  1. A leaf peeping hike. The changing colors feel good on our eyes.
  2. Bright morning sunshine with cool crisp air, perfect temperature for a light jacket on a morning walk or bike ride.
  3. Brilliant blue afternoon skies just warm enough to shed that light jacket and be immersed in weather that is ideal for just about any activity.
  4. Visit your local apple orchard and participate in the fall harvest. It’s fun to make a day of it and pack a picnic lunch.
  5. Finding freshly picked farm stand vegetables while cruising on back roads in our Subaru.
  6. The smell of leaves, just after they have been raked into a pile. No matter your age, it’s tough to do all that work without taking a minute to jump into the pile afterward.
  7. Autumn flowers, they come in beautiful hues of orange, brown, and red this time of year.
  8. 18 holes…of disc golf.
  9. Gathering with friends and family to partake in a game of flag football or bocce ball.
  10. Camping under the stars in the cool night air, enjoying Mother Nature’s symphony.
These are only a few ways to get outside and enjoy this beautiful season. After all, President Barack Obama has just deemed September National Wilderness Month! So what ever your pleasure, enjoy this amazing time of year and don’t forget to practice Leave No Trace while you are out there! Happy fall!

Safe travels…Kate and Tracy
