I'm happy to say that Leave No Trace has just brought me in as a new outreach intern for this summer! My name is Whit Schroder, and I grew up in Northern California, where I was able to enjoy the outdoors in some of my favorite places in the Cascades and the Sierra Nevada. I recently graduated from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with degrees in anthropology and archaeology, where I was able to experience totally different but equally beautiful scenery in New England and Upstate New York.
I'm very excited to get started on a number of great new projects that are currently in the works here at Leave No Trace, including planning some upcoming Subaru/Traveling Trainer and e-tour events, creating a survey relating to some of the results of the Traveling Trainer program, and promoting the new Bigfoot Challenge. We all know Bigfoot has been Leaving No Trace for years, so, while we're celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Traveling Trainer program, we're going to challenge all of you to follow Bigfoot's lead by coming up with a way that you can Leave No Trace in your community and your favorite parks! Go ahead and check out our new Bigfoot Challenge page at http://lnt.org/bigfootchallenge for a chance to make a difference! (And as an extra bonus, we are offering some free gear from some of our partners so that you can truly get involved by experiencing the outdoors!) Let us know what you think by leaving a comment on this blog!
