I recently visited the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Spring with my family. Not only is it an amazing opportunity in terms of viewing and meeting wild animals, they also do a wonderful job of promoting Leave No Trace. Yes, you read correctly - promoting Leave No Trace at a zoo! It might seem like a stretch to some but what better place to talk about respecting wildlife and natural places than at a zoo?
This particular zoo has some very effective signage that links their broader environmental efforts seemlessly to their Leave No Trace efforts. Check out these signs:
