On behalf of Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, we are excited to launch the inaugural year of our 1st Annual Online Auction! This unique event will bring members of the Leave No Trace community from around the globe together for the first time, to share in their support and advocacy for the Center’s mission.

Take a Good Look. Bids are now being accepted on exciting items from many of our Corporate Partners, Board of Directors, members and other partners. Make Your Bid. Even if you've never taken part in an online auction before, it's fast and easy to bid on one or more items in our auction catalog. Step by step instructions will walk you through the bidding process so you can participate with confidence. And remember, every bid helps support our cause!

Tell Your Friends. The success of this online event depends on getting the word out to as many people as possible. We need your help. Please share (see sharing options below to share this post, or feel free to send a direct link to the auction) all of the auction news with your friends and encourage them to participate so they don't miss a single moment of the fun and excitement.

My Backyard: Creative support goes a long way.

We’re always thrilled to hear of the innovative ways our members, partners, and volunteers raise money for the Center.

Most recently, we’ve learned of a film festival hosted by Colorado State University’s Warner College of Natural Resources that will benefit the Center. The films will feature various adventure, humanitarian and sustainability themes and all proceeds from the event go to the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics.

Additionally, we recently learned of a volunteer that created a Birthday Wish on Facebook to benefit Leave No Trace. She has set a goal to raise $370 for the Center, and from now until April 20, 2010, she will be asking her friends to donate as a birthday present.

The are innumerable ways to support the Center beyond membership. Got the creative itch to fund raise? Go for it! Your support of the Center helps fund new educational materials and initiatives, as well as scholarship and grant opportunities for communities nationwide. Thank you for your support!

Help Leave No Trace up to $10,000 this week!

By shopping at your favorite North Face store next week, May 4th - 10th, you can help Leave No Trace earn up to $10,000! REALLY!

The North Face is donating 5% of every purchase you make next week to Leave No Trace, AND then matching that 5% dollar for dollar! That means 10% of your purchase will be donated directly to Leave No Trace, with the potential to earn up to $10,000. Getting involved is simple: just mention Leave No Trace at checkout, or bring the above code in with you, to your nearest North Face store.

Have someone with a birthday coming up? Need new clothes for the spring time? Replacing your tent? Head to your nearest North Face store next week, and mention Leave No Trace at the checkout.

This fundraiser is only happening at North Face retail stores. Want to find the one nearest to you? Visit The North Face website.

Calling all Front Range residents!

We are so excited to participate in a giftwrapping fundraiser on Wednesday, December 19 from 5-9pm at the REI Boulder store (1789 28th St., Boulder, CO 80301). All donations from our fabulous gift wrapping will go directly to Leave No Trace.

In keeping with the Leave No Trace mission, we'd like to use 100% recycled materials to wrap the purchases of REI customers. We need your help to collect these materials!

Suggested materials include the following:
-Newspaper
-Webbing
-Rope
-Fabric
-Yarn
-Recycled bows
-Recycled gift bags

We are also in need of tape donations.

You can drop off your donations anytime at the Leave No Trace office (1830 17th ST., Suite 100, Boulder, CO 80302). Feel free to leave your recycled materials on the porch after regular business hours.

Another way to support the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is to stop by REI Boulder, do a little holiday shopping and have the lovely Leave No Trace staff wrap your gifts!  We always love the opportunity to meet folks supporting Leave No Trace in our own hometown.

Thank you for your support!
